The John Muir Trust is a membership organisation that conserves beautiful places through purchasing land and forming partnerships. We currently own and care for some of the most wild and beautiful places in Scotland including Ben Nevis, Scheihallion, Knoydart, Sandwood Bay, Torrin, Sconser and Strathaird on Skye.
People are welcome to visit our estate and enjoy their beauty. If you would like to be a part of our organisation then please consider becoming a member, it is very reasonably priced and your subscription would be used to help keep these places beautiful.
Our Vision-
The John Muir Trust was established to continue the vision of Scots born John Muir, the father of the modern conservation movement who helped to establish the US National Parks programme. Our aim is to conserve the wild and beautiful areas of the UK through sensitive management, partnership work and education.
Programmes and Activities-
Conservation and education activities take place most of the year round on the John Muir Trust Estates.
Take part in our Summer Programme and learn to explore, conserve, explore and share your experiences. Trips range from £50 - £200 and can be on the River Spey or in Yosemite National Park, who knows where we will take people to next!
Our conservation activities take place on our estate and range from tree planting, dry stone dyke building and path laying. These are very reasonably priced and, much fun and a great alternative holiday where you can really 'put something back'.
